Forming part of the new £350 million Kimmerfields regeneration scheme, Cameo Systems have installed 22 disabled refuge help points in the Whalebridge multi-storey car park.
The 850 space car park will provide 25% parking for town centre workers with the remaining providing convenient access to shops and offices for Swindon residents and visitors.
The disabled refuge help points are connected to a central control centre forming part of the security and public safety strategy of the facility.
Cllr Garry Perkins, Swindon Borough Council Cabinet member for economy and regeneration, said: “This new car park is a key point in the regeneration of Swindon, and will vastly improve the experience of visitors to the town centre.”
